paper CO_Lenguajetxt7 - : This paper reports the preliminary results of an on-going project. It explores verbal process behavior in two genres belonging to academic register: question answer and essay . First, verbal process frequency was established and I discovered that this index was considerably higher (more than double) for Q-A texts as compared to the E texts. The explanation of this phenomenon may be derived from the more informal and more colloquial character of the former in comparison with the latter. This coincides with our previous data in the analysis of these two genres (Ignatieva 2008a; 2008b).
